Digital Asia is an adventure into eastern electronica, Arabic beats with the dhol, sitar and tabla fusing into house, breakbeat, drum&bass, and funk. It's an album like no other. The album features the smash club hit Digital Asia, the electro beats of Threads of Identity and the hypnotic, dark house rhythms of Desert Queen. All three tracks were played listed on [BBC] Radio One in their top ten chart. Digital Asia featured on Bobby and Nihal's [BBC] Radio One show at number one and was playlisted for over 4 months. Das Duo Asif und Martti a.k.a. Fusing Naked Beats aus West-London melden sich mit dem zweiten Album zurück, das sie auf ihrem eigenen Label veröffentlichen: nun die Outer Perspective auf das Digital Asia.

Asian Electronics, Global House, arabische und indische Beats mischen sich mit Hip-Hop-, Drum'n'Bass- und Funky-Dance-Rhythmen. Dabei wurde mit vielen Gastmusikern zusammengearbeitet: mit der griechischen R'n'B-Sängerin Ms. Kat, der pakistanisch-britischen Sängerin Najma Akhtar, mit Sonia Mehta (Gastsängerin für Asian Dub Foundation auf dem Album Enemy Of The Enemies) und Swami Baracus. Außerdem sind mit dabei Rowdy Brown a.k.a. Nihal von BBC Radio 1 (Track Fusing Faces) und der deutsche MC Sulal Kool (Track Asiatic Remix).

Outer Perspective is an album which pushes the boundaries of the mainstream music scene and provides you with an alternative idea of the contemporary Asian sound. Das Londoner Duo meldet sich mittlerweile im Ein-Jahres-Takt mit einem neuen Album zurück. Jetzt also das Dritte: Witness Of The World, das sehr abwechslungsreich — mal entspannt groovy (Ru'yah), mal peitschend (Psychotropic), mal düster/melancholisch (der Titeltrack), mal Urban House Disco-like (Deeper Reality Remix), mal Electro-Tabla-esk (Odyssey), mal verträumt mit schönen indischen Vocals (Zoroastrian Star) — daherkommt. Und mit History Lesson (feat. General Levy) gibt's eine Lektion in Sachen Asian Dancehall. ;-)

Fusing Naked Beats zeichnen sich dadurch aus, dass sie mit ihrer eigenen Interpretation von Asian Beats, einer Fusion zwischen Eastern (Tabla) Electronica und Uplifting Global House, Reggae, Arabic und Indian Beats sowie Hip-Hop, D'n'B rhythms und funky Dance-Baselines, ihren eigenen urbanen Weg gehen! :-) Gemeinsam mit einer ganzen Reihe von Gastmusikern: General Levy, Shahin Badar, Mehi, Sandhya Sanjana, Houria, Unnati, Turi, Mic Assassin.

Und mein Lieblingstrack vom Vorgängeralbum, Alcazar, für den damals Natacha Atlas gesamplet wurde, ist auch wieder mit dabei: Als Reinkarnation Maniakos kommt es nun mit griechischen Samples daher und wurde mit den Vocals der griechischen Sängerin Kat Neocleous verfeinert.

Fusing Naked Beats melden sich im Frühjahr 2008 mit einem neuen Album zurück, das fünfte. Hier erst einmal die Pressemeldung dazu vorab:

Internationally respected and much-loved West London producers DJ Asif & MRT a.k.a. Fusing Naked Beats return with their new album for 2008 Zenith.

The word Zenith derives from Arabic word samt (path), in the expression samt arrâs (path above the head) and its meaning translates to achieving the greatest height of success, to reach for the heavens and this is what this album reflects.

Zenith is the fifth album from Fusing Naked Beats in 5 years and this album is a reflection of their efforts to reach for their Zenith, a true culmination of their best work to date. The album features deep and driving house beats fused with their usual recipe of asian and arabic symphonies all with the distinct classic FNB production served up in generous helpings. It’s all here: The dance floor movers in the tracks Sundust, the synth-tech heavy grooves of Elation and the Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan 10th anniversary tribute track Renaissance. FNB have really raised the bar for innovative global dance music in this unique album.

FNB have created a stylish and danceable album forging heavyweight dance floor gems and widescreen downtempo beats all influenced by their shared musical inspirations between electronic music, asian and arabic cultures fused with the contemporary music scene to reflect different creative concepts.
