Let us pay our last respects to
Eartha Kitt († 25.12.2008), Blossom Dearie († 07.02.2009), Ali Akbar Khan († 19.06.2009), Michael Jackson († 25.06.2009), Margot Ebert († 26.06.2009), Patrick Swayze († 14.09.2009), Eduard Zimmermann († 19.09.2009) and Mercedes Sosa († 04.10.2009). Rest in peace!

In the end of 2008, the Berlin radio station radiomultikulti from the public broadcaster RBB was closed. Instead of this programme, the Cologne station Funkhaus Europa is transmitted in Berlin. But, some of the former crew of radiomultikulti has started the internet spin-off “Multicult”, Version 2.0.

In 2009 we could relisten to DT64, the GDR youth radio from before, during and after the Changes, because there was an events series with original radio broadcasts and discussions about them. The Berlin radio project Herbstradio gave us the original remake of Grenzpunkt Null with Rex Joswig (Herbst in Peking). And the alternative internet radio station ByteFM from Hamburg has won an Alfred Grimme award. Congratulations!

Moreover, the Wall came down 20 years ago. 20 years later, German television ZDF has a fully digital newsroom, the so-called “green hell”. Apart from that, we had elections in Germany with a not so thrilling election campaign…
